Holly, a Eugene, Oregon High School Senior

Holly is a senior at Sheldon High School here in Eugene who found us through her friend Justina. The weather for her senior portrait session was a little dark and rainy, but we made the best of it, and even took advantage of it for a few images. The image above was created using north light which I love for it's soft qualities and great color. Thanks Holly!

Megan's Senior Portrait Session

Megan, a senior at Sheldon H.S. and a friend of Casey's, arrived this afternoon for her senior photography session just about the time the clouds were rolling in. We still got some great images, but it was just so muggy! This image is one of the first portraits we shot, with Megan just sitting in the front doorway to my studio, using natural light. In this version of the image I just did a monochrome conversion using one of my secret Photoshop formulas and then added a pink tint to it. Thanks Megan!

Chris' High School Senior Portrait Session

I have been having fun creating sports related images for high school senior athletes this year. I don't do much studio portrait work, but I really like the mood created with the black background and the harsh lighting. I have done several of these portraits (look in past posts) lately that I have been pretty happy with. I think standard broad portrait lighting would just look too much like they were taken at the mall, and not at all like edgy senior portraits. Chris plays lacrosse, so we created a few images that show more of his gear, but I like the way this looks as though he just stepped off of the field, sweat and all. I turned the intensity of the color down in this image to give it an even moodier feel.

Hey Vicki!

This is an image from a portrait photography session I had this morning with Vicki. Vicki is training for the 2008 Olympics (I believe she runs the 300 meter), and she's also a real-estate agent in training. This was shot at the end of a session for her real-estate stuff, and since she is a part time model (her agency is Sports Unlimited in Portland) that I have worked with before, I knew I could get a couple of more fun images of her. This is one of my favorites.

Beau and Melanie Get Married!

Ata Vista Farm is Brownsville was the location of Beau and Melanie's wedding on Saturday. Hole in the Wall BBQ provided the food and Mt. Hood Beverages provided the refreshments. What a great day it was to have a wedding! The weather couldn't have been more perfect, not even a cloud in the sky. The bride, groom, and all attendants were barefoot for the wedding, but Beau and Melanie slipped into their Converse All-Stars for the reception. If you know me, you know I love my "Chucks"! Beau is an up-and-coming song writer, so they are headed for Music City USA, Nashville Tennessee! A couple of the bride's maids wore cowboy boots to the recpection to give a nod to the move. Beau and Melanie, thank you so much for the kind words, and for letting me photograph your wedding!

Brittnee's Senior Portrait Session

Brittnee, from Beaverton High School, made the trip all this way for her senior portrait session. Her mom, Tammie, found us on the internet! Don't you just love the modern world!? Brittnee brought her boyfriend, Chris with her to get a few photos of them together. In the image of her above with the skate-board, I used another image of the underside of the scratched-up board as the background of the image. I converted it to black and white, then tinted it blue. I like subtle way it repeats the skate-board theme. Thanks for making the drive guys!
