Elise's Senior Portrait Photography

It rained today during Elise's senior portrait session, but it didn't stop us. We drove out to Fern Ridge (where we got chased off by the caretaker!) to get a few pictures in the cat tails, and on the way back I saw this cool old feed store. It is perfect contrast to Elise in her prom dress! She did such a great job bringing great outfits, some cool hats, and a positive attitude. Thanks Elise!

Outdoor Family Portrait on the Trampoline!

Andrea and her little brother Jackson were so excited to be photographed! I had previously photographed their little baby sister Brooke, and when I was introduced to Jackson he said "oh, we just love your pictures!". What a cute boy, saying all the right things. While mom was still getting baby Brooke ready the older kids and I went down the hill to the families trompoline and got some fun images of them jumping and playing, then we went blackberry picking. When mom, dad, and Brooke were ready to go we photographed the entire family. What a fun time we had!

Emily's Senior Portraits

Emily is a senior at Sheldon High School who came in for a senior portrait session. Her mom wasn't able to attend her session, so she brought her friend Kirsten along. We got some great shots outside in the leaves and the grass...all the good stuff. But I really wanted to get a shot that reflected what a quiet, sweet girl she is. I set up my studio with a very large, soft light and placed it to Emily's right, with another light above and behind her to her left to separate her from the background. I am very pleased with the results, and I'm sure she is too. Thanks Emily!

Ken & Mary's Oregon Coast Wedding

Ken and Mary's families flew in from all over the country to attend their wedding on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Both the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception were held at the Adobe Inn in Yachats, Oregon. Ken and Mary were great sports who went along with just about every crazy idea I had. In the shot above they followed the receding wave out for this great shot...but notice the HUGE wave forming on the horizon! We had to really run (with the wedding guests on the bluff above cheering us on!) to beat the wave. I barely made it because I stopped to grab Mary's shoes as I ran past them. What a rush! There were tourists clapping and recording the action on their video cameras even. We were so lucky with the weather, too. The forecast had been pretty grim, and it had poured down rain the day and night prior to the wedding. Thanks Ken and Mary!
